MUMBAI: Bollywood sure seems to be going places in it’s centenary year. The latest Cannes update is that the Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer ‘Shortcut Romeo’ will see a grand premiere at the prestigious film festival of Cannes next month.
Debutante filmmaker Susi Ganesh must definitely be over the moon, because his very first film, ‘Shortcut Romeo’ starring Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ameesha Patel and Pooja Gupta will reportedly see a premiere at the Festival de Cannes in the French town of Cannes in May.
‘Shortcut Romeo’ is scheduled to be screened on 22 May, at the French Riviera.
Reveals director Ganesh excitedly, “It’s amazing that my first Bollywood film is getting this kind of exposure. It is an out-an-out commercial entertainer, which has fight sequences and fun songs. Even as we celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema, it is nice that ‘Shortcut Romeo’ represents the commercial face of Bollywood in the festival’s 66th edition.”
‘Shortcut Romeo’ is not the only film at Cannes with an Indian connection. The Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘The Great Gatsby’ is opening the festival, while superstar Rajinikanth will release the trailer of his latest film Kochadaiyaan at the festival, by personally unveiling it!
‘Shortcut Romeo’, produced by Susi Ganesh Productions, releases in India on 21 June, 2013.
