MUMBAI: Bollywood’s most underrated star Neil Nitin Mukesh, who was last seen in Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘David’ is gearing up to debut in the horror film genre, with ‘3G’ opposite his real-life girlfriend Sonal Chauhan.

At the music and trailer launch of the film, Neil revealed why he loves the horror film genre and why ‘3G’ is a dedication to his dad. Looking dapper in black, Neil said: “3G is a psychological thriller which leaves you with a lot of question marks as it moves ahead. You try to figure out whether this man is a vampire, someone possessed, schizophrenic, split personality or a serial killer.”

“It was all the more fun for me to step into this arena since my father and I have been the biggest fans of horror and simply love the genre. Ever since I was a kid I have been watching these films and today I am a part of one such story.”

Neil also mentioned why he feels that Nambiar’s ‘David’ is a turning point for him. “I am stunned to see the kind of accolades that have come ever since the release of the film. When the audience appreciates you, it is a good thing in its own way. However, when the industry too acknowledges what you have done and comes forward to support your act, it is an altogether different high.”

The talented actor who wowed audiences in ‘Johnny Gaddaar’, has sadly not seen too much success since then. Neil said he’s lucky to be reliving the magic again. “The last time this happened to me in such a unanimous manner was more than half a decade back when ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ had released. Today I am reliving the same moment.”

Also present at the music and trailer launch of ‘3G’ was the film’s heroine, Sonal Chauhan, in a gorgeous white cut-out dress.
