MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor is in the mood for an image makeover. Despite the mixed response to Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’, Kareena is not afraid of going into the realistic space again.
In a bold departure from the norm as per her image, Kareena has agreed to do away with songs in Prakash Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’.
In fact she insisted on doing the role without songs.
Says a source close to the project, “Kareena had a long discussion on this subject with Prakash Jha. And it was mutually decided hat there would be no lip-sync songs for her character in Satyagrah. This would be the first time when Kareena won’t be singing on screen. Even her other realistic film ‘Chameli’ she had a song.”
That Kareena is ready to enter a new phase in her career is evident in the role that she has picked for the winter. Not only is she part of Prakash Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’ she has also decided to shoot the film at a stretch. Jha has blocked the actress’ dates for 40 days from mid-January.
Says Prakash Jha, “It’s the only way to function these days. You can’t work piecemeal any more. I am shooting ‘Satyagraha’ in Bhopal from mid-January 2013 to the end of March. Kareena would be in Bhopal shooting for the film for 40 days. Then her work would be over.”
