MUMBAI: The title of this film has proven to be an unforeseen tongue-twister for most Bollywood lovers. Yes, we can only ascribe such a description to Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming release ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’.

‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ has been generating a lot of buzz lately, what with the intriguing, twisted title and the presence of an all-new never-before-seen item girl in the form of a pink buffalo! With so many wonderful things to look forward to in the film, the focus has now shifted to its music.

Anyway, the filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj does not want people to concentrate too much on the pink cow. “This is being stretched a bit too much now, this Gulabo as an item girl thing. There is nothing of that sort, she is just a character in the film and I don’t want you to stretch it to such a limit that people watch the film only for her,” said Vishal. “Let’s move beyond Gulabo, there are other ‘gulabi’ (rosy) things in the film, let us concentrate on them also.”

So what are the other ‘rosy things’? Is it Anushka’s tattoo “Dekho Magar Pyaar Se”?

Anushka revealed the meaning of the tattoo at the launch of the music of ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, in Mumbai, ” The tattoo is apt for my character (Bijlee). It means look at me, but not with the wrong intentions.”

The naughty Anushka also adds, “I have many tattoos in the film!”

Imran was spotted in a sky blue tee and grey trousers, and Anushka chose an all-black ensemble to shake things up a bit. In a rock-chic avatar, Anushka rocked the music launch wearing a graphic printed tee, black skinny jeans and a cropped black jacket. She chose to sport smoky eye makeup to complete her kick-ass look.

The film’s writer- director, Vishal Bhardwaj was also present at the event. Being the music director of the film, Vishal was also entitled to speak at length about the quirky, off beat music that is making waves on the music charts. The dramedy film, which also stars veterans like Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Azmi, and Arya Babbar in supporting roles, is all set to release on 11th January, 2013.
