MUMBAI: 3 months ago, Salman Khan entered our homes and hearts with the sixth season of the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. Little did he or the makers know that this season would turn out to be as incredibly interesting and fun-filled as it did. With the promise of this season being different i.e. ‘Alag Che’, fans of the popular reality TV were most certainly in for a surprise.
Saturday night saw the grand finale of this television extravaganza. The show had all the makings of a blockbuster: drama, suspense, comedy, romance, action (albeit in the finale week, with one contestant allegedly assaulting the other!) and loads of entertainment. The finale too lived up to the reputation of the show which had the entire country hooked onto their TV sets every night at 9 pm.
The grand finale of ‘Bigg Boss’ saw several movie stars promoting their respective films. Prabhu Deva and Remo D’Souza brought their 3D Dance film ‘Any Body Can Dance’ to the sets of ‘Bigg Boss’, and the duo grooved along impeccably with Salman Khan. Emraan Hashmi made a quick appearance as well, to promote his thriller film ‘Ek Thi Daaayan’.
Along with films, TV shows also saw promotions happening on the stage of Bigg Boss’ grand finale. ‘Nautanki Circus’, a new comedy show which has Tusshar Kapoor and Neha Dhupia in integral roles, along with several TV actors as well, took to the stage to promote their show. They even ribbed Salman about giving others a chance to host TV shows; for everyone knows what a spectacular job the ‘Dabangg’ dude did with this season of Bigg Boss.
Past contestants came along, and provided entertainment and laughs on the big stage. Sapna Bhavnani, controversy’s queen and celebrity hair stylist did a little jig on ‘Womaniya’ along with fellow evicted housemate Dinesh Lal aka Niruaha. Delnaz and Rajev Paul, the infamous divorced couple continued to provide entertainment with their sticky situation. Several dance performances rocked the stage as well, and kept the audience going until the winner was announced.
Coming to the winners: supermodel and top contender for the title Niketan Madhok came in last, and was the first to be ousted from the house, on the grand finale night. Next came “legally blonde” starlet Sana Khan, who had surprised everyone by reaching the finals. Imam Siddique was declared runner up, for his endless hours of crass entertainment and torture of his fellow housemates.
And the winner was…. *drumroll* Television vamp and single mother of two, Urvashi Dholakia! The lady who had been attacked incessantly for her on-screen avatars, who was the most deserving candidate after all, emerged victorious in the battle for Rs 50 lakhs. Urvashi was ecstatic on being crowned the winner, and it was surely a night to remember for the headstrong, brave actress.
