MARRAKECH: It was a sight to be seen, in the beautiful city of Marrakech, in Morocco. Bollywood’s reigning Baadshah, Shah Rukh Khan had the entire city eating out of his hands.
In Morocco for the International Film Festival of Marrakech, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was the biggest draw. If you don’t believe us, just have a look at the pictures. Shah Rukh Khan, standing atop a parapet on stage, arms outstretched in the now famous pose, Shah Rukh proved that he is the King of hearts, here in the beautiful town of Marrakech.
The arena was packed to the nines, with fans of all shapes, sizes and ages, who wanted to catch a glimpse of their favourite superstar.
And Shah Rukh gave them their money’s worth, yes, he most certainly did. Clad in a black 3-piece suit minus the blazer (in keeping with the somewhat sultry weather in Marrakech), Shah Rukh performed for his adoring fans. Besides his stage presence, what endeared him to the star-struck audiences were his wit, charm and utmost humility; traits we have been privy to for years.
A bodyguard keeping a firm check on the superstar, lest he falls off the narrow ledge, we spotted Shah Rukh least bothered about this peril though. He went on to wow his millions of assembled fans, just by being his magnanimous self!
“I went to Marrakech Film Festival because of the people there and their constant love I have got in all these years. I went there to tell them that I love them too and I am blessed to receive their love. The sight of that crowd at Jemaa el-Fna was very overwhelming. They waited to cheer me on, how could I not spend a little time with them. That’s the least I could have done,” said SRK.
Shah Rukh Khan has since this momentous trip, travelled to Jakarta in Indonesia, and wowed his fans there by performing at the ‘Temptations Reloaded’ concert along with Preity Zinta and Bipasha Basu. Here’s welcoming the star back home, after his whirlwind trip across half the globe!
