Bollywood stars Priyanka Chopra and Ayushmann Khurana, inaugurated the launch of the People’s Choice Awards, here in Mumbai on Thursday.
Colors TV launched the Pantene presents People’s Choice Awards (PCA). Also present were top officials from Colors TV and Pantene. Bollywood beauty and recently turned singer Priyanka looked sporty and chic, wearing a blue spaghetti top, embellished with silver crystals (bling befitting her stature as a moviestar, of course), a cream coloured mini-skirt and sky-high stilettos, with her hair pulled back in a neat pony.
Ayushmann was sporting his usual geek-chic look, with skinny jeans, a brown formal shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a skinny tie, et al. The stars unveiled the coveted People’s Choice Awards trophy to the media yesterday.
The International format of these awards is owned by Proctor & Gamble Entertainment (P&G). India will be the first country outside of USA, to host its very own PCA, Desi-style. The People’s Choice Awards will be an extravaganza, combining various genres of entertainment, honoring exceptional talent across Bollywood, Music, Television and Sports.
The star-studded event will witness performances by the Bollywood brigade – Madhuri Dixit, newlyweds Saif-Kareena, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, singer Sonu Nigam, popular TV stars Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar and others.
Witty and charming host Ayushmann Khurana will be seen keeping the audiences in splits with his comic style.
Commenting on the launch of People’s Choice Awards in India, Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors said, “The Indian television space has witnessed multiple international entertainment formats. However, Colors goes one step forward as we, for the first-time-ever, present an international awards format that’s based on public voting entirely honoring top entertainers across categories like movies, music, television and sports. The awards are completely democratic, uniting all mediums of entertainment on one common platform.”
Priyanka also has her debut single, “In My City”, in collaboration with Will.I.Am (of Black Eyed Peas fame), out in stores now.
