MUMBAI: Bollywood’s bad boy Salman Khan seemed to be everywhere this weekend! From attending a CCL match in Hyderabad, to cycling down his lane on Carter road, and to his appearance at artist Rouble Nagi’s art camp, the ‘Dabangg’ superstar did it all!
Salman is known as quite the prolific artist himself. His famous Buddha paintings are gorgeous and portray the superstar as a thoughtful, intellectual, sensitive individual. So it was no surprise that we spotted the arty superstar at Rouble’s art camp in the city.
Dressed casually, Salman was seen mingling with other celebrities like Vidya Malvade, Baba Siddiqui, Maryam Zakaria, Wardha Nadiadwala and many others. The art camp organised by Rouble Nagi was to support the cause of educating street children. Salman was more than thrilled to lend his support to the noble cause, and was seen smiling and encouraging the hard working kids who participated in the camp. The artworks by these underprivileged children will reportedly be auctioned and the funds will go towards their education.
Said Rouble, “I began these camps with the help of the NGO Pratham around six years ago. I began holding camps for underprivileged children in Delhi and Mumbai. We shortlist paintings and hold auctions and have art shows with the paintings created in these camps, to raise funds for education. My art camps are basically a platform for interaction of the not-so-fortunate with people from all walks of life. I believe art is one of the best ways of expressing yourself, and is a great form of entertainment.”
Salman Khan was seen agreeing wholeheartedly with Rouble. Perhaps we’ll get to see the ‘Tiger’ of Bollywood aka Salman Khan auction off his paintings next, for charity?
