Priyanka Chopra’s first home production film Madamji was recently surrounded by a lot of rumours about the film being shelved because of the similarities with Mallika Sherawat’s film Dirty Politics.
To put an end to every rumour, the co-producer of the film, Ram Mirchandani came forward and made it clear that there is no truth to those rumours and said that Priyanka Chopra will shoot for the film once she returns from US, in May or June.
“It’s nonsense. Everyone is assuming that the film is stalled because Priyanka will be away to the US for about two and a half months for her TV show. But she will be back in April and we will start shooting for the film in May or June. The film will be shot over a 55 day schedule. In fact, we hope to release it by the end of the year or latest early next year,” a leading daily quoted Mirchandani as saying.
Ram Mirchandani went further on and dismissed all the talks about Madamji being similar to Mallika Sherawat’s Dirty Politics, saying that the latter film is based on a true story, whereas Madamji is a fictional story about an item girl’s foray in politics.
Priyanka will be playing the lead role of an item girl turned politician in Madamji. The film will be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.
