Rajinikanth To Romance Huma Qureshi In Pa Ranjith Next?

Apart from the magnum opus Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 was one of the most anticipated films of this year. However, the makers pushed the release to next year citing VFX works.

Rajinikanth, who met his fans after eight years at Raghavendra Mandapam in Chennai on Monday, confirmed that his next film with Pa Ranjith will roll from May 28,2017. As per recent developments, it is said that the makers have approached Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi to play the leading lady’s role.

Speaking about the actor, a source was quoted by Mumbai Mirror as saying, “The makers were looking for someone with a strong screen presence as it’s a performance oriented role. Huma will play Rajinikanth’s love interest. She is really excited. They start shooting in Mumbai from May 28 and Huma will start prep soon.”

Be it Gangs of Wasseypur or Dedh Ishqiya, Huma Qureshi wooed the audience with her stellar performance. It would be interesting to watch her act alongside Thalaivar. Earlier to this, Vidya Balan, who was supposed to work with Rajinikanth in Lingaa and Kabali, was approached for the role. However, the actresss walked out of the project due to date issues.

To be produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, the yet-untitled film has music by Santhosh Narayanan of Kabali fame. While reports suggested that the film was based on gangster Haji Mastan, the makers released a press release and quashed the baseless rumours. Thalaivar 161 is expected to release next year.

Thalaivar 161 is to be produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. After pairing up with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Endhiran, Deepika Padukone in Kochadiiyaan, Sonakshi Sinha in Lingaa and Radhika Apte in Kabali, the superstar looks like will be romancing yet another Bollywood actress, Huma Qureshi who is known for her nuanced performances in Anurag Kashyap’s 2012 crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur.
