[tps_footer]Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, who is majorly known for his comic roles and the one who shot to fame post Ram Gopal Varma’s Jungle, is in a legal mess. The Delhi High Court on Friday directed Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav to surrender before Tihar Jail by July 15 to serve out the remaining six days of the 10-day imprisonment awarded to him in 2013 for filing a false affidavit.

Rajpal Yadav had already spent four days in jail from December 3 to 6 in 2013 but later high court had suspended the sentence on his appeal. The actor was found guilty of contempt of court for filing a false affidavit in a civil suit filed against him by a businessman. He and his wife Radha were held guilty for misleading the court and avoiding an appearance in a recovery suit of Rs 5 crore pending against them.

Rajpal Yadav’s wife got away with lighter punishment as the court noted that she had an infant to take care of and had ordered her to be in custody for one day in 2013. The recovery suit had been filed by Delhi-based businessman M G Agarwal against Rajpal and his wife Radha, after they failed to repay Rs 5 crore, which the actor had taken in 2010 to make his directorial debut through the film Ata Pata Laapata.
The court also issued contempt notices to the lawyer of Rajpal Yadav’s wife for allegedly lying about her whereabouts and the oath commissioner who had attested the affidavit.[/tps_footer]
