MUMBAI: Vivacious Priyanka Chopra, who is known for being forthright and honest to a fault, recently revealed why she agreed to be a part of the item song in Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Ram Leela’.
Though she has time and again spoken against the ubiquituos ‘item song’, this hasn’t stopped Priyanka from being a part of several of such numbers in the recent past. Who can forget her gyrating to ‘Babli Badmaash’ in ‘Shootout at Wadala’, or ‘Pinky’ in ‘Zanjeer’?
Priyanka said: “When he (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) asked me to do the film’s title track, I was excited. It’s a different genre — a modern mujra. The dance is different and difficult. I hope people like it and rave about it as much as they loved my picture from the song.”
Priyanka hasn’t had a blockbuster hit this year, unlike in ‘Agneepath’ last year, opposite light-eyed Greek God-like Hrithik Roshan.
“No one has a perfect career and 100 per cent hit films. I am proud of every single film I have done — whether they worked or not — and I will always stand by them,” said Priyanka.
While she is most certainly excited for her upcoming release, ‘Krrish 3’, Priyanka also touched upon her new career- that of a music sensation- in Hollywood.
“I am working on my music (in Hollywood). I am open to films in any language, but that’s not what I am seeking actively. I have two careers that I am handling — one as a debutant musician and another as a bankable actor,” she said.
