[tps_footer]Rani Mukerji, turned thirty six today, 21st March, 2014. She made her screen debut with a supporting role in Biyer Phool (1992), a Bengali film directed by her father Ram Mukerji.
Rani Mukerji made her Bollywood debut with Ashok Gaikwad’s Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat in the year 1997, but she finally got her due with Ghulam and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in1998.
Rani Mukerji followed this initial success by portraying the leading lady in several films, including Hello Brother (1999), Bichhoo (2000) and Nayak: The Real Hero (2001), but none of these films took her career forward.
It was in the year 2002 with Yash Raj Films Saathiya, that she finally established herself as an actor and from then on there was no looking back for her. Rani went on to do films like Black, No One Killed Jessica, Bunty Aur Babli, Veer Zara and last but not the least Yuva.
Rani Mukerji’s father, Ram Mukerji, is a former film director and one of the founders of Filmalaya Studios. Her mother, Krishna Mukherji, was a former playback singer and her elder bother Raja Mukerji is an aspiring director and producer.
The latest rumours doing the rounds, is that Rani is reportedly dating Aditya Chopra and they are soon planning to tie the knot.
Both Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra have kept their relationship under wraps even though it’s so obvious to the whole world. Recently, when Rani Mukerji was caught sporting a big rock and the rumour mills went wild stating that she has got engaged and soon-to-be married to Aditya Chopra in Udaipur, Rajasthan. However, Aditya Chopra denied it point blank, leaving lots to speculation.
Rani Mukerji is currently busy shooting for Yash Raj Films Mardaani in Delhi. The film is being directed by Pradeep Sircar and Rani Mukerji essays a role of a crime branch officer for the first time. Mardaani is scheduled to release on July 18, 2014.
