Rani Mukherji To Retain Her Maiden Name In Mardaani

mardaani mainThere has been a lot of speculations about Rani Mukherji’s credit in the film Mardaani, post her marriage to Aditya Chopra in a quiet ceremony. Well, the final verdict is out and Rani would retain her maiden name for Mardaani.

Recently, the poster of Mardaani was released. It is the first communication of the film, which has a very harsh looking Rani Mukherji with a revolver in her hand, dressed in a black kurta and jeans, after bashing up a guy.

A look at the poster and one can say this is something Rani has never done, but then what catches the eye is Rani’s name on the poster. Seems like the Chopra daughter-in- law has decided to go with her maiden name; Rani Mukherji instead of changing her surname post wedding.

From the beginning, everything about the film has been kept very hush-hush. Even the subject of the film has been kept strictly under wraps as it a controversial subject.

In Mardaani, Rani Mukerji plays the role of Shivani Shivaji Roy, a police officer with the Mumbai Crime Branch unit who is fearless in confronting hardened criminals. Mardaani has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar.

Mardaani, where every war is personal, is all set to release on August 22, 2014.
