MUMBAI: Coincidentally, it began with Karan Johar just as it has ended with him. In an episode of Koffee With Karan in 2011, Sonakshi Sinha had admitted that she would have liked to date Ranveer Singh if he were single. Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha were eventually cast together as star-crossed lovers in the upcoming ‘Lootera’. 

Recently, Karan Johar spoke about the co-stars in ‘Lootera’. He said, “”Every single visual of Lootera exudes a silent sensuality, which is enhanced because of the chemistry that Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha exude. It’s one of the most exciting lead pairs, as they have completely opposite energies, but put together, they have passion written all over their demeanour.

Even Sonakshi Sinha has spoken about them being exact opposites of each other. She said, “Ranveer and I are opposites. As hyper as he is, I am calm. Even as actors, our styles of working are different. He likes to prepare whereas I don’t switch on until the camera comes on.”

Could this be a case of ‘opposites attract’? Reportedly, Ranveer Singh is dating Deepika Padukone ever since they got on like a house on fire on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela. So is this a case of ‘one-way-traffic’ then for Sonakshi Sinha?

No one knows for sure. We’d all like to see a happy ending like it happens in films, but for now Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha are content just giving us hints about their romance, like they have with the trailers for ‘Lootera’.
