Priyanka Chopra is perhaps the best choice to play Mary Kom in the upcoming biopic. Yes, she did earn some flak for looking nothing like Mary Kom who is much petite and mascular than her. But that can be discounted as Priyanka isn’t a professional boxer. Expecting her to do what Farhan Akhtar did in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is asking too much. The reasons why we think she is better suited for the role are as follows:

- In Fashion, she proved, if challenged and handled well, she can do wonders. The National Award will speak for it. Playing Mary Kom is the challenge she was definitely cut out for.
- Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that you need a certain dedication to play a pugilist who is a five times boxing world champion. Priyanka has the conviction to get into the skin of the characters she is offered.
- Priyanka has showed off her stunt skills in Drona and Don and so, she is agile enough to get into the grab of a boxer pretty well.
