MUMBAI: As Bollywood diva, Vidya Balan’s wedding with Siddharth Roy Kapur comes closer, curiosity about her plans for the big day keeps increasing!

What will she wear? Who will attend? What style wedding will she have?

While the couple themselves have chosen not to say much, it seems that embracing both their cultures, they will have a true Punjabi style ‘sangeet’ on December 11 and a Tamil wedding followed by customary rituals on the morning of December 14. The wedding festivities will wind up with a grand, star spangled reception on the same evening.

A friend related to Vidya Balan’s family has revealed that “Siddharth and Vidya both want to keep it very private so she’s inviting only very very close friends and family”.

News is that Vidya Balan’s entire trousseau collection will be designed by her most preferred: Sabyasachi Mukherjee. He will be designing 18 hand-crafted sarees for Vidya’s trousseau collection and more for her family.

While most of the sarees are ready, Sabyasachi will be personally working on the sarees based on Madras silk. The designer is going to stop over at Chennai, Tamil Nadu on his return from London. The bride and her family have chosen to go with traditional, Indian wedding colours in pure Chennai silk.

Sources have revealed, “In Tamil weddings, there’s a change in sari for different rituals during the wedding so she has two bridal saris, both warm-shaded silks and Sabya’s doing some exquisite work on them. The cholis will be very traditional”. The deadline for the designer is December 1.

The star-studded reception will be attended by the Bachchan clan, ‘The Dirty Picture’ director Milan Luthria, filmmakers Vishal Bharadwaj, Rajkumar Gupta and R Balki, TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor with brother Tusshar Kapoor and ofcourse, designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
