MUMBAI: ‘Satya 2’ was supposed to release on October 25, 2013. But, Ram Gopal Verma and Arun Sharma, who owns LR Active – the producers, had a fall out.
Ram Gopal Varma terminated the contract with LR Active on October 22, 2013. Now, LR Active filed a petition before the Bombay High Court, where they alleged that Varma terminated the contract without a valid reason and demanded a stay on the release which provided interim relief to LR Active until the final verdict is pronounced.
According to the CEO of RGV Film Factory Sandeep Gangatkar, the reason for terminating LR Active’s contract was that they paid less than half the promised amount towards marketing expenses.
If this was not enough, RGV got to know that Arun Sharma was allegedly involved in a Rs 5600 Crore scam in the Jignesh Shahpromoted NSEL (National Spot Exchange Limited).
After all the leagal battles and drama, Varma finally emerged a winner and got a clean chit to release his film on November 8, 2013.
‘Satya 2’ stars Puneet Singh Ratan, Anaika Soti, Mahesh Thakur and Raj Premi. It is a sequel to 1998’s super hit crime drama that had brought Manoj Bajpai into limelight.
