Sanjay Dutt And His Emotional Journey: Nargis, Richa Sharma And Manyata

priya dutt-2[tps_footer]It’s being the most traumatic time for Sanjay Dutt as it must have brought back a lot of memories. Sanjay has suffered many losses in his life, including his mother Nargis Dutt and first wife Richa Sharma, who both succumbed to cancer and the sight of Manyata in the hospital bed, triggered all those memories.

On seeing Manyata unconscious on the hospital bed, Sanjay Dutt had an emotional break down and he became so hysterical that the hospital staff had to intervene to calm him down.

Manyata was rushed to a multi-speciality hospital in Parel on January 14, 2014 after she collapsed at home. The doctor immediately suggested that she be admitted, as her condition appeared serious.

Doctor Ajay Chaughule, who is handling Manyata’s case, confirmed the news and stated, “Yes, Manyata was brought in a state of near emergency. But we need to run several tests before we can establish the cause. Manyata has a six centimeter tumour in her liver and that is definitely not small. Only further tests can say if the tumour is cancerous. If it is not cancerous she may need to undergo a surgery, maybe after fifteen years. As things stand right now, she will have to remain in hospital.”

Namrata, Sanjay’s sister who is very worried and concerned about her brother and sister-in-law said, “Manyata had fever from the past ten days before she was admitted. The fluid in her lungs had to be drained out. She’s been put on a drip, she is very weak and needs rest.

About Sanjay Dutt, she said, “He is extremely worried, it is a very difficult time for him and he is not doing well. Some crisis or the other keeps popping up. Priya and I are with him, we have to take it in our stride. Breaking down and giving up won’t help us.”

Sanjay’s mother Nargis was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and despite the treatment she underwent in New York, her condition worsened when she returned to Mumbai. Nargis died in 1981, a few days before Sanjay Dutt made his film debut in Rocky.

Soon after his wedding to Richa Sharma in 1987, she too was diagnosed with a brain tumour and the couple separated just two years after their wedding. Manyata had undergone an emergency surgery to remove fluids from her lung on Wednesday and Sanjay has not left the hospital ever since his wife was admitted to the hospital three days ago.

Sanjay said that he is really scared at this point in time. Manyata’s hospitalization reminds him of his earlier losses. As Manyata’s treatment is getting prolonged, he is panicking.

Our prayers are with the Dutt family and do hope that Sanjay Dutt emerges out of this emotional crisis soon.[/tps_footer]
