Sanjay Dutt Files For 14-Day Leave For Medical Reasons

PUNE: Sanjay Dutt has applied for a 14-day furlough under the jail manual rules. This is the first time since his final jail ordeal the plea has been made.

The actor who has been in the Yerawada jail in Pune since the last three months had earlier filed a 30-day parole to avail medical treatment.

Sanjay Dutt had also filed for a curative petition, which was recently turned down by the Supreme Court.

The actor has been making paper bags in the jail earning Rs 25 a day and has agreed to take part in cultural celebrations. The actor was given medical aid when the actor complained of high blood pressure.

“We have forwarded his parole application to the divisional commissioner, who will take a decision,” says Jail Superintendent Yogesh Desai.

He also says that Sanjay Dutt’s behaviour and conduct also be taken into account, while granting the parole.

Sanjay Dutt’s last release ‘Policegiri’ may have bombed but fans and family are still in touch with the star through an initiative called ‘Write 2 Sanjay’.

Sanjay Dutt’s leave application was made before the jail authorities on Monday and is being processed.
