Sanjay Dutt Granted 30 Days Parole!

Sanjay-ManyataActor Sanjay Dutt who is a convict in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, is currently serving his 42 months sentence in Pune’s Yerwada jail. The actor who has been criticized for applying for parole time and again, is again in news for the same.

Sanjay has again been granted a 30 days parole by the state administration. It is being reported, that Sanjay applied for a parole in the month of June this year, citing that his daughter was not keeping well. Reports further suggest that after all the legal formalities of granting parole are completed, Sanjay Dutt is expected to be with his family for 30 days.

The Munnabhai actor is convicted under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act in the 1993 blasts. In the year 2013, Sanjay was sentenced for a five year imprisonment by the Supreme Court. Sanjay Dutt’s parole has always been a topic of debate; many suggest that the actor is getting more attention due to his stardom.

Additionally, the 30 day parole granted to Sanjay Dutt this time is extendable to 60 days more, which has yet again become a debate amongst many. It is also reported that the reason why Sanjay’s parole has been criticized, is that the actor since his sentence in 2013 has been out on parole for almost 146 days, and this newly granted parole will add to the same.

According to the law suit, a furlough is the right of a prisoner in which he /she is granted a 28 days of exemption in a year, however parole is granted only under extreme conditions.
