MUMBAI: The success of ‘Kai Po Che’ has sent the entire team of the film into a publicity overdrive with each of the three main protagonists played by Raj Kumar Yadav, Amit Sadh and Sushant Singh Rajput’s publicity team sending out sensational stories of their breathtaking conquests.
It turns out that many of these over-zealous attempts to cash in on a successful film are hoax bombs.
After emphatic reports of Sushant Singh Rajput having signed by Karan Johar and ensuing denials from Karan Johar’s production house, it is Sanjay Leela Bhansali who has been at the receiving end of some heavy duty marketing strategy from the rising star’s marketing team.
The latest bit of promotional reportage is that Sushant was approached by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, an offer that Sushant “rejected”. Bhansali has also been quoted on the front page of a daily entertainment supplement praising Sushant as the actor that other youngsters should emulate.
Confounded by the claim a source from Sanjay Bhansali’s production house says, “Mr Bhansali has made no such statements and has no idea where it is coming from. He has only met Sushant a couple of times. He has not offered him any role. At the moment he is busy shooting ‘Ram-Leela’ with Ranveer Singh. He is also producing a television series ‘Saraswatichandra’. At the end of the year Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions will start another film with Akshay Kumar. Where is the room for any other project, or actor?”
