One of the country’s biggest filmmakers and successful producer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was among the 75 named for the high order of the Padma Shri ,as the official list of the Padma  awards were announced on the occasion of Republic Day.

The President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee presented the Padma Shri Award to Sanjay Leela Bhansali , at the glittering Civil Investiture ceremony , yesterday,at Rashtrapati Bhavan , in New Delhi.

Known to create nothing short of magnum opuses, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has never failed to deliver films rich in content and high on entertainment, a visual spectacle captured on celluloid.

The country bestowed India’s fourth highest civilian award on Bhansali, honoring his contribution to Indian cinema that showcases grandeur and originality and his knack of storytelling.
