Sasheh Agha Follows In Mom Salma’s Footsteps, Croons For ‘Aurangzeb’

MUMBAI: Pakistani beauty and Bollywood newbie Sasheh Agha is already following in her mother, Salma Agha’s illustrious footsteps. The stunning youngster, who is making her debut in ‘Aurangzeb’ has sung a song for the film!

Sasheh, a trained singer from the Kirana Gharana, will be seen singing the song ‘Barbaadiyaan’ in ‘Aurangzeb’, where she is making her debut opposite the very handsome Arjun Kapoor. ‘Barbaadiyaan’ is a club track and Sasha revealed that she even had to audition for the song.

“I have learned singing from my mom (Pakistani singer-actress Salma Agha) and I don’t plan to give it up because I am very passionate about it. I want to make a career in acting and singing simultaneously,” said Sasheh.

Speaking about her illustrious family roots, Sasheh said, “Musicians Sajid and Wajid are my maternal uncles. My stepsister is the famous English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Natasha Khan, who goes by the stage name Bat for Lashes.”

She carries on, “My great grandfather was Jugal Kishore Mehra, who was Raj Kapoor’s uncle and married to Anwari Begum, the famous singer. My grandmother Nusrin Agha, was a well-known singer as well. So in a way, I am the fourth generation singer in my family.”

‘Aurangzeb’ is directed by Atul Sabharwal, and also features Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh, Prithviraj and Rishi Kapoor. The film releases on 17 May.
