Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has become a talk of the town not only because of its fantastic promos and songs but also because of many controversies. The ban on the Pakistani artistes had become a debating point in the country and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil became a target of attack as it has Fawad Khan in this Karan Johar’s directorial film. Many veteran actors from the industry gave their opinion about the controversy. The controversy made the Bollywood divide in favor and against the issue. However, the ban from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was lifted as Karan Johar, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and MNS Chief Raj Thackeray had a meeting recently. Talking about the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil controversy, veteran actress Shabana Azmi expressed her views.
In a recent interview, Shabana Azmi raised a lot of questions about the issue. She said, “ADHM has been passed by the CBFC. Home Minister Rajnath Singh had promised safe passage for the film’s release. The matter should have been over with that over.” Shabana Azmi even slammed Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who became a bridge between Karan Johar and Raj Thackeray. She said, “The role of the Maharashtra Chief Minister was clear. He had to ensure that law and order is enforced. Instead, he brokers a deal between the producers and Raj Thackeray who places a price of Rs 5 crores for display of patriotism?”
Shabana feels that the BJP should ask for an explanation from Devendra Fadnavis for disrespecting the Home Minister’s words. Talking about the role of MNS in the scenario, the legendary actress slammed MNS Chief Raj Thackeray. She said, “Is Raj Thackeray going to decide whether I am patriotic or not? I abide by the Indian constitution. Raj Thackeray does not. His patriotism should be up for questioning.”
