Also seen at the award function were actors like Madhuri Dixit, Tusshar Kapoor, Tanisha Mukherji, Swara Bhaskar, Harman Baweja, Divya Khosla, Javed Akhtar, Sophie Choudry, among others.
Shah Rukh Khan was given a Special Award for being The Face Of Romantic Music at The Mirchi Music Awards 2014.
This Special Award was preceded by a musical tribute, in which singers from different generations, right from Udit Nrayan and Sonu Nigam to current sensations such as Arijit Singh and Aditya Narayan sang some of Shah Rukh Khan‘s biggest hits from films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Darr, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.
Alka Yagnik too joined the men by dedicating the Baazigar title track to Shah Rukh Khan, while Anu Malik sang Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen again form the film Baazigar.
Shah Rukh Khan became emotional and thanked all the artists for playing such a vital role in making his songs such big success. Also present on stage to give Shah Rukh Khan the trophy were lyricist Javed Akhtar and director Subhash Ghai.
Sonu Nigam and Subhash Ghai went down memory lane with their film Pardes, which was the first film in which Sonu Nigam had sung for Shan Rukh Khan.
Aashiqui 2 bagged all the major awards of the evening with Mithoon and Ankit Tiwari making several trips to the stage to collect awards in different categories.
The Radio Mirchi Music Awards 2014 were hosted by Sonu Nigam and Manish Paul.
