MUMBAI: Fans of Bollywood’s ‘King of Romance’ – Shah Rukh Khan, have always loved to see the actor wooing his many heroines on screen. From all of his co-stars it is Shah Rukh’s coupling with dusky beauty Kajol that had created the most frenzy.
SRK and Kajol were first paired together in Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Baazigar’ released in 1993. But it was not till the late Yash Chopra’s ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ in 1995 that the pair’s on-screen sizzling chemistry was noticed.
Much to the happiness of fans world-over, Shah Rukh and Kajol went on to do many more movies together, including ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and recently, ‘My Name Is Khan’.
But as Diwali nears, faster and faster, and the anticipation for SRK’s next – Yash Chopra’s swan song – ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ steps up, fans have begun eagerly looking forward to the ‘new jodi’ – that of Katrina and Shah Rukh – that could clearly become a super hit.
Cashing in on this fact, the beauty soap brand ‘Lux’, which Katrina already endorses, has brought together the pair for their next ad campaign.
The ad will go on air on Diwali, Nov 13, the same day as ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ hits the screens. In the commercial shot and directed by French director Juan Delcan, you will see SRK go ‘bekaboo’ for Katrina due to the fragrance of the soap, amidst a background of Sufi-inspired music composed by Gulzar, and sung by Sonu Nigam.
Organizers of shows are also eying this hot new pair. “With JTHJ coming up, Shah Rukh and Katrina are the hottest new on-screen couple.
Every organizer including IIFA, Screen, Apsara and Stardust has approached them. They want them to do an act together on stage but it all depends on their availability and fee,” revealed an insider.
It seems like British-Indian beauty Katrina Kaif is fast securing the place of the ‘most wanted’ actress in Bollywood. For Katrina, this has truly been a ‘Khan-tastic’ year. She kick-started 2012 this August, with Salman Khan’s Eid release ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Of course, Salman and Katrina’s pairing together was a dream come true for many fans.
Post ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ opposite the King Khan SRK, Katrina will be seen with Aamir Khan in ‘Dhoom 3′.
If the yard-stick for any actress’ success was how many movies she scored with the Khan triumvirate, Katrina is surely flying high!
As more and more songs from YRF’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ are coming out and the audience is getting better glimpses of the fresh pairing, viewers are beginning to get very excited about what Shah Rukh and Katrina’s on screen chemistry will be like.
A source revealed, “Ever since the trailer of JTHJ has hit screens, there’s no denying that they make a great on-screen pair.
SRK’s pairings with Juhi Chawla, Kajol and Madhuri Dixit have always been big, but this will be a fresh pairing after a long time. Both SRK and Katrina have their own huge fan following.”
For Bollywood lovers, this duo is even more interesting because Katrina was once in a relationship with SRK’s arch-rival Salman Khan.
And everyone knows that with Salman Bhai, its either his way or the highway.
How then has Katrina managed to maintain all her relationships with each of the Khans amicably, remains a mystery.
