MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to do to his new film ‘Rambo Rajkumar’ what Salman Khan did to ‘Dabangg’. Taking a hardhitting theme about the salt mafia in Gujarat, Shahid is converting it into a massy punch-filled actioner with plenty of twists turns, emotional and physical.
To make that transition smoothly, Shahid has actually been sitting on the scripting with Prabhu Deva, to decide on his character accent, looks, clothes and body language.
Apparently the brief to director and self from Shahid is, Shahid in ‘Rambo Rajkumar’ would be a blend of Rajnikanth, and Salman Khan in ‘Dabang’
Shahid Kapoor is taking no chances this time. Having goofed up in his judgement regarding several recent fiascos including his own father Pankaj Kapoor’s ‘Mausam’, the talented young actor is not willing take any chances. Shahid wants ‘Rambo Rajkumar’ to be even more mass-oriented than Prabhu Deva’s ‘Rowdy Rathore’.
Incidentally ‘Rambo Rajkumar’ is not Shahid’s only current project where he’s taking an active interest in the scripting. One hears Shahid has been giving “invaluable suggestions” to Raj Kumar Santoshi during the shooting of ‘Phata Poster Nilka Hero’. Most of these suggestions are being happily accommodated by Santoshi.
