Twinkle Khanna revealed that she too faced molestation at workplace despite being the wife of Akshay Kumar.
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna has come up with an amazing piece of advice. This is following the recent controversy and allegations put on TVF founder and CEO Arunabh Kumar.
To all who came in late, an anonymous user by the name of Indian Fowler published a post on a site called Medium. Alleging that she was se*ually harassed by The Viral Fever (TVF) founder and CEO Arunabh Kumar. Later, not one but 50 women came out to share their same horrifying experience.
Actress Twinkle Khanna speaks her mind out on the issue. Referring to molesters at the workplace as ‘loathsome frogs’ and the victims as the ‘little file-toting flies.’ In a column of TOI, Twinkle took a dig at all those who have been accused of molestation at the workplace.
Arunabh has been quoted by a leading daily saying, “I am a heterose*ual single man. When I find a woman se*y, I tell her she is se*y. I compliment women, is that wrong?” To which Twinkle very aptly replied, “‘Se*y’ is an acceptable compliment within a work environment only if she is a strip*er and you are her pi*p trying to boost her confidence before she takes the stage.”
Twinkle Khanna also revealed that she too faced molestation at workplace despite being the wife of Akshay Kumar. She wrote, “A few years ago, a message on my phone reduced me to tears in the car. I had reached the breaking point after months of suggestive messages from a wealthy, powerful client. I had been pretending not to understand because all I wanted to do was to complete the project in a professional manner.
And so I ended up as a statistic — the 38% of women who faced se*ual harassment at work. This was according to a survey done by the Indian National Bar association. I am a fairly assertive woman, and married to Akshay Kumar. A man who onscreen punches holes in walls with his bare fists and yet I haven’t been spared. So I shudder to think about what happens to the vast majority of working women.”
She went ahead to write, “respectfully ask her out for a drink, and if she refuses your polite offer then go and drown your sorrows in that very drink and leave her alone. Do not stalk her, touch her, send her lewd messages and emails. And as far as compliments go, try telling her about her great presentation skills, her way with numbers, her astute negotiations. Telling a woman she is se*y in the bedroom is fine, telling her the same thing in the boardroom is simply deplorable. So think before you croak or it may just be your turn to be doused in formaldehyde and dissected next.”
Meanwhile, advocate Rizwan Siddiqui has registered a complaint against TVF founder. Lodged with the police as well as with the Maharashtra Commission for Women to investigate the case. He has already sent out complaint letters to the Mumbai police and is waiting for the investigation to start.
On the other hand, TVF team has issued an official statement saying that they would look into each and every accusation that has surfaced so far.
