Singham was a good film which showed cops in good light after many years. They have been time and again shown as people who reach the crime spot late and often rigged with corruption. The film helped people see cops in different light.
Apart from that, what also stuck with the audience was Ajay Devgn’s delivery of Aata Majhi Satakli. Post the film’s release, even kids were heard mouthing this dialogue. No wonder that the makers thought of giving it a musical touch in the sequel to the film. But sadly, we didn’t like the song at all.
Yes it has the latest and strange craze Yo Yo Honey Singh in it. In fact, Ajay Devgn said in a recent interview that the lad cooked up the notes and lyrics overnight. Now when you already have a punchline like Aata Majhi Satakli, half of the work is done. In typical, Honey Singh fashion, the song is sung and choreographed which left us uninterested.
Like it or not, all Honey Singh songs make it to the top of the charts. But sometimes he does go crazy with his compositions. The song is so cacophonously loud that you can’t even listen to the lyrics properly. Even the music is similar to so many other Singh numbers that we are used. We agree he has a certain style but that doesn’t mean you stick to it like bee to the honey. Variety is the spice of life, Honey!
