Bollywood lovers are all set and extremely excited to catch Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam in theatres next week on Friday, July 31. But reportedly, the film went through quick editing right before its release. Recent reports suggest that a slapping scene from director Nishikant Kamat’s Drishyam was removed before getting through censor board and preparing for its release. The scene that has been reportedly cut from Drishyam was a scene where a woman was shown being slapped during a police interrogation. Reports further reveal that the scene was cut from the film as the Censor Board is strictly against showing any kind of scene or dialogue that projects violence against women in any way.
Not only visual cuts but also few words in the dialogues have also been erased from the film. However, the Malayalam film with the same name that Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam is original based on, showed and had the slapping scenes in the film. Not only that, but recently released Tamil version of the film also had the same scene without any cuts.
However, no official statement about the reports has been made yet. The thriller drama film Drishyam, also stars Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor. Taking us through the beautiful scenery of Panjim, Goa, we’ll meet Vishal Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn and his beautiful family in the upcoming suspense thriller. In Drishyam, everything in the life of this cable operator called Vishal, seems normal. Just when we thought nothing can go wrong in Vishal’s life things take a wild turn.
The moment the makers of Drishyam released the film’s trailer, people went gaga. The trailer pretty much reveals it all. But even though the story is presented to us in a silver platter covered in dark dust of suspense, we can’t help but wonder what’s going to happen next? How far a man can go to protect his family? Guess we are just about to find out on July 31, 2015!
