After mesmerizing audiences with his music composing skills, Shekhar Ravjiani is all set to try a new career and get in front of the camera. If reports are anywhere to be true, music composer Shekhar Ravjiani will be making his acting debut in biopic Neerja. Not only that but Shekhar will also be romancing Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor in the film. Reportedly, Shekhar will play Sonam Kapoor’s love interest in the film. Well, it’ll be great to see Shekhar for the very first time in front of the camera. However, nor Shekhar neither anyone from biopic’s team have yet confirmed the reports.
Directed by Ram Madhvani, Neerja also stars Shabana Azmi, who’ll play Sonam’s mother in the film. The film will take us through their mother-daughter relationship in depth. Well, fans are quite excited to see Sonam ace a strong role like this in a biopic.
Sonam Kapoor’s much awaited film Neerja tells a struggling brave story of flight stewardess Neerja Bhanot. During 1986 hijack of PanAm in Karachi, Neerja risked her life and died while saving hundreds of passengers. The braveheart Neerja posthumously became the youngest recipient of India’s prestigious and highest civilian award for bravery, The Ashoke Chakra. Neerja passed away at the age of 22.
During an interview, director of the film Ram revealed that Sonam Kapoor was his very first choice for the lead character of the biopic. He revealed that Sonam was the first person to come to his mind when he closed his eyes and thought about Neerja Bhanot.
