MUMBAI: You know a film is up for release when Bollywood stars start paying visits to religious shrines. Case in point was actress Deepika Padukone, who was spotted at Mumbai’s powerful Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi yesterday, on the eve of the release of her film, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.
Deepika looked traditional yet beautiful in a vermilion coloured churidar kurta, and she neatly tied up her hair for her temple visit. A quick rendezvous with the elephant-headed God, and Deepika was seen ending her darshan by signing autographs for the hundreds of fans who were waiting to catch a glimpse of her outside the temple.
She also carried the prasad from the temple herself, and looked happy and peaceful after her visit.
A lot had been said about the Ranbir-Deepika pairing in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, but the two stars themselves remained nonchalant about it. Deepika recently put to rest all these rumours once and for all when she said, “When I agreed to do the film I had not read the script, but I had faith on Ayan and working with Ranbir was the other reasons why I said ‘yes’ to the film.”
Speaking about their chemistry getting better with time, Deepika said, “I think we have matured as actors and have better on-screen chemistry now.”
