Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi will soon be taking the seat of Chairman of National Film Development Corporation replacing the current chairman filmmaker Ramesh Sippy. Suresh Gopi is the first ever Malayalam star to be appointed as the NFDC chairman. Reportedly, he will soon be starting his political career as well.
Reportedly things started to fall into place after the actor’s meeting with Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Arun Jaitley and Minister of State Rajyavardhan Singh Rathoreat New Delhi. The post of NFDC chairman is as important as the Minister of State and thus it is definitely a major turning point in the actor’s life.
Throughout his time Suresh Gopi has worked a lot towards the betterment of the society in his home state Kerala. The National Film Development Corporation’s main aim is to help all the film industry across Indian grow and achieve progress. NFDC also works towards promoting Indian cinema on a global platform and opening the doors to foreign collaborations beneficial for Indian film industry.
Actor Suresh Gopi has worked numerous hit films and is best known for his avatar as a policeman or a lawyer in most of his films. The actor has thus been seen delivering thunderous dialogues as conveniently (and maybe even better) as actual lawyers and policemen. The 55-year-old star has given hits like Commissioner, The Tiger, Bharathchandran IPS, Christian Brothers and the blockbuster film Chinthamani Kolacase. Suresh Gopi was awarded the National Film Award for Best Actor in the year 1998 for his film Kaliyattam.
