Swara Bhaskar Wins Best Actress Title In China

Swara-Bhaskar-002[tps_footer]Swara Bhaskar is not a very well-known name in our film industry. She has not worked a lead or any protagonist role till now in our B-town yet she has shined in the small and essential side roles which she had played till now. We have seen her play a friend in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ where we loved her accent and dialogue delivery. The critics have very much appreciated her performance in the film ‘Raanjhanaa’.

This charming and well versed actress has managed to win hearts and make a name for herself in the Silk Road International Film Festival. She has been appreciated for her role of a helpless yet strong mother to a teenager in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s directorial “Nil Battey Sannata” (The New Classmate). This international festival is the Chinese version of the Oscars. Jackie Chan is the ambassador of the Silk Road Film festival and he is working hard in order to make the Festival famous worldwide.

It was a pleasure for this Indian Diva to have bagged such a prestigious award.  Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau was awarded the Best Actor prize for his performance in “Saving Mr. Wu“. The director of the film was full of praise for this young actress, it was a surprise for him to see her attend meditation and yoga classes, visit Agra and learn their culture and language just to fit in and get a grip of the role.

The Silk Road film fest is trying hard to gain international fame and hence as per our sources they have signed cooperative agreements with Busan International Film Festival, Moscow International Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival.
