The Unlikely Heroes Of Bollywood

Vinay-Pathak[tps_footer]For us being a Bollywood hero means the person needs to have some set attributes. Like beautiful hair, hot body, drop dead looks and a charming personality. Without all these, a guy hardly looks the part of a hero. But there are a few people who are unlike any Bollywood hero but have managed to make an indelible mark in our minds. Here come the unlikely Bollywood heroes.

1. Boman Irani

Nobody sees him as a typical male hero of Bollywood, but he played the role of a lingerie salesman in love with a feisty girl. He wasn’t hot but was very cute as the lovestruck overage man trying to find love.

2. Paresh Rawal

Yes, he isn’t a hero with good looks or great hair but this man has something which half of the industry doesn’t posses- stupendous acting skill. Based on the same, he shouldered a very quirky take on God with OMG! Oh My God! And everyone loved it. Nobody complained that he didn’t break into a jig every now and then.

3. Paan Singh Tomar

It is a biopic and needed a man who needed muscle in acting and not on his body. Enters Irrfan Khan and we are bowled over. He is the most unlikely hero India has ever seen. He doesn’t have any clichéd attributes of being good looking but his acting is so relatable and hardcore no one cares. Paan Singh Tomar was perhaps the best film in his career which infused commercialism with parallel cinema just right.

4. Anupam Kher

We have been watching this man dole out different characters since forever now but mostly they are just supporting characters. But his Daddy, Saraansh and Khosla Ka Ghosla proves that he doesn’t need to have a head full of hair to rock the screen. His immaculate and meticulous as an actor and the act comes effortlessly to him.

5. Omkar Das Manikpuri

Yes he has done just one noteworthy film called Peepli Live but it made everyone take note of him and he proved he is worth the attention. He played a destitute farmer using his suicide as a tool to secure his family’s future. He was just bang on with the portrayal.

6. Vinay Pathak

He was the lovable teacher in Hip Hip Hurray and then followed it up with many itsy bitsy roles in films. Then Bheja Fry and nobody has any inkling of doubt now that he is an actor par excellence. Did you notice that he pot-bellied not an ab-ed hero? We strangely didn’t!
