[tps_footer]Bollywood flick Great Grand Masti was all set to be a very successful project. The movie had a high recall value as it is the third installment of a successful franchise popular in Indian youth. Also the movie promos and songs have caught up well with the audience. However the movie too faced the same ill-fate which was met by the much-acclaimed Udta Punjab.
Yes. The copy of the film submitted for Censor approval was leaked to the public online and the prevalent piracy in the society has harmed the film’s fate hugely.
While talking to the media lately, actress Urvashi Rautela, who plays the female lead in the film said that at the young age of 22, Urvashi never thought that she would face any situation like this in Bollywood. She added that when she learnt about Udta Punjab leaking online, she felt extremely bad for the cast and crew, but never in her worst dream imagined that something similar could happen with Great Grand Masti as well.
She also said that people started messaging her appreciating her performance in the movie. They also told her how they saw the movie online much before its release in theaters. Urvashi explained that she was so shocked by the news that she didn’t know whether to smile or cry for the compliments she was receiving.
Such was the emotional turmoil Urvashi went through, that she broke down while explaining that audience from different strata of society appreciated her performance and informed her how much they liked the film.
The film suffered a huge loss when it had to release on Friday, a week prior to its decided release date. The second installment of the franchise, Grand Masti, was the only edition to enter the 100 Cr club. Experts had similar expectations from the latest release as well; however with the ill-fated leak of the movie, the sex-comedy could barely collect Rs. 2.50 Cr on its opening day. It followed to collect 8.25 Cr subsequently over the weekend.
However, the film is not likely to have a great future and is already predicted to be a huge disaster at the Box Office.[/tps_footer]
