Reports related to Bollywood actress Vidya Balan never stops to please and surprise us. Just when we were wondering when we’ll get to see Vidya on the big screen next, rumours about Vidya Balan playing Charlie Chapline in a film started to flood in!
The actress made a revelation about wanting to play Charlie Chaplin on the big screen a while ago and guess what, a director has finally approached Vidya Balan to play Chaplin on silver screen! According to reports, Malayalam director R Sarath wants the actress to recreate Charlin Chaplin’s magic on the big screen in a Hindi film. Looks like Vidya’s dream is on its way to turn into a reality.
The actress was at an inauguration ceremony where she inaugurated Charlin Chaplin’s exhibition in the city where Vidya mentioned about her admiration for Chaplin and that she would love to play Charlie Chaplin in a movie someday. “I would love to do a Charlie Chaplin movie. I loved Sridevi as Charlie Chaplin in Mr. India. He has been a huge inspiration in my life,” Vidya Balan said.

According to buzz, director approached Vidya at the inauguration and Vidya was more than happy about the role. Director confirmed the reports by saying, “Yes, I have approached Vidya to play the title role of Chaplin and she has agreed. I’m coming to Mumbai next week to meet her. We’ll take things forward from there.” Reportedly, the film that Vidya has been offered will be based on the work of fiction. Yes, the film will not be a biopic but based on a fictional story altogether.
If all go as planned, we’ll get to see Vidya recreate late legendary comic star Charlie Chaplin’s aura on the big screen. We are sure that the actress will do every justice to the character and look fantastic in Charlie Chaplin’s getup. How can we be so sure? Well, the actress has already posed as Chaplin once! Months back, Vidya Balan did a photoshoot for a magazine, where the actress was seen giving a tribute to Chaplin by sporting a short mustache, dressed in a dark black suit, with a smiley face on, a hat and a walking stick.
