Set in the backdrop of Kolkata, the movie was filled with suspense and thrill till the end. Sujoy Ghosh’s intense drama is still regarded as one of the best films.
Playing the role of Vidya Bagchi, the Dirty Picture actress flaunted her versatility to no ends. After her performance in the film ‘Kahaani’, Balan undoubtedly became everybody’s favorite. However, after the much acclaimed film, the actress was not very much seen in the limelight.
After all the speculations about the sequel, finally the confirmation is here. Vidya will yet again don the suspense filled character in the sequel of the movie. Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh who likes to keep his shooting schedules under wraps finally took to the micro blogging site Twitter and posted a picture of a clap board which confirmed the shoot. The director captioned it, “in gratitude for the love you gave our first film. we will work even harder to live up to your expectations:).”
Another interesting detail for the sequel is that handsome hunk Arjun Rampal will be seen opposite Vidya Balan. Must say, the trend of unusual on screen pairs is here to stay. The sequel is also set in the backdrop of a village named Kalimpong in West Bengal and is speculated to have the same aura.
The movie might not see the entertaining star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, but is expected to have Jugal Hansraj on board. The release date of the film is yet not announced with the film just starting with its shooting schedule.
