Eversince the trailer of Kaththi released, Vijay has started trending. It has made a lot of impact and everyone is eager to watch the show this Diwali. But it seems the road to theatres will not be rosy for the film. It has been encountering a lot of issues.

Apparently, the producer of the film has links with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Lyca Productions, the banner behind the film, partenered with a Common Wealth Business forum in Sri Lanka which also created issue. Although Vijay has announced that all the issues have been resolved, distributors still aren’t confident if the film will be able to use the Diwali period.
Also there will be competition from Happy New Year which is the biggest release of this year. Although regional cinema down South gets more, a Shah Rukh Khan starrer will always be given preference.
