Virat Kohli Beats Shah Rukh Khan And Aamir Khan To Become The Highest Paid Brand Ambassador

The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has hiked his brand endorsements fee to become the highest paid celebrity endorsing any brand.

The famous Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, who also happens to be the captain of the Indian cricket team, has left us all amazed. If the reports are to be believed, then the Indian captain has hiked his endorsement fee for any brand.

After doing so, he has left behind the big stars of Bollywood like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and has become the highest paid brand ambassador. Earlier, Kohli used to charge anything between Rs. 2.5 crore to Rs. 4 crore, per day. Now the star cricketer has hiked it to almost Rs. 5 crore per day.

The financial daily, Economic Times informing about the fee hike says, “The increase comes as the renewal of his endorsement deal with cola maker PepsiCo is being negotiated.”

When it comes to the Bollywood celebs like Aamir and Shah Rukh, they have around 3-3.5 crore as their per day charge for any brand endorsement. Even the former Indian cricket team captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, charges around same as these big stars.

Endorsement fee of a celebrity is calculated based on the number of days he or she needs to spare for the promotion of the brand, including the days required for shooting of commercials. This is over and above the duration of the contract which generally ranges between two to four years.

Virat Kohli has definitely hit a sixer with this fee hike. As per the reports, he has as many as 18 brand endorsements in his closet including big brands like MRF tyres, Audi cars, Puma, Colgate toothpaste.

Apart from brand endorsements, Kohli has recently launched his clothing line Wrogn. He also owns a chain of gymnasiums called Chisel. He has also invested in a tech start-up named Sports Convo and has partnered with Nazara Technologies for online cricket games.
