Priyanka Chopra’s Creative Participation In Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
Actress Priyanka Chopra was one of the Bollywood nominations by our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and Priyanka did it with excellence. Though it took sixteen days but, the result was beautiful.

In spite of just picking the garbage and cleaning the limited area, she took the drive to a completely new level by renovating the place in Mumbai’s Versova area. Talking about selecting the place actress said, “”We chose this place in Versova which we had visited during the shooting of my film Agneepath. We had put up a big set over there for the basti (village) scene, and I remember there are people who live here, and there are children who play on mounds of garbage here, and that’s their life.” Through the drive, she tried to spread the message of cleanliness among the people; she beautified the place by painting the walls and made people understand the importance of keeping the environment clean and sustain cleanliness.
With this Priyanka has raised the bar to a completely new height. She shot the video in association with Purple Pebble Pictures Production. The actress along with her team and with the help from BMC and Sun Foundation managed to remove eight trucks of garbage from the land. The actress surely has done her duty whole heartedly. Addressing in a video she said, “It took me a little longer than I wanted, but when Prime Minister asked me to be one of his ‘navratnas’, I was very excited. But I wanted it to be something that could be sustained”
Taking the cleanliness drive further, Priyanka Chopra nominated: Vikramjit S Sahney and the Sun Foundation, NDTV’s Prannoy Roy, Vikram Chandra and their team, her Fashion director Madhur Bhandarkar, Sidharth Roy Kapur and his team at Disney-UTV, the students and faculty of IIM-Ahmedabad, the Taxi Union and Auto-Rickshaw Union of Mumbai and her team PC Rockstars among others.
She thanked Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi by tweeting Gandhiji said ‘Be the change you want to see’- thank you @narendramodi for reminding me of that! #MyCleanIndia can happen! #ChangingMindsets
