Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s Dangal is earning in a massive way in China since its release last week. The film, which released on April 5th in China across 9000 screens is soaring high at the Box Office. In about a week’s time, Dangal has collected around Rs 300 crore nett approx. at China Box Office. With China release, the worldwide collections of the film have gone to an another level.
Dangal received a good start and had collected around Rs $2.5 million (25 crores approx.) in China on its first day of the release, which was insane. After a huge opening, Dangal continued its strong run at the Box Office in China in its first weekend. The film collected $4.3 million approx. on Saturday and $4.8 million approx. on Sunday. In just three days, Dangal collected $11 million approx. at the Box Office. However, the second-weekend business was double the first weekend.
Dangal grossed $32.50 million on the second weekend and the total collections have reached to $59.70 (382 crores) in ten days. Well, the gross business of Dangal (all languages) in India was Rs 512 crore and looks like China alone can beat this figure in the coming days.
The total worldwide business of Aamir Khan’s Dangal after China release is Rs 1100 crore while Baahubali 2: The Conclusion business is Rs 1294 and is expected to reach Rs 1500 crore mark. Can Dangal trump Baahubali 2?
Dangal has done the business three times more than Aamir Khan’s own film; PK. Dangal is expected to easily surpass PK’s record of $20 million at the Box Office in China.
In a 2015 interview to IANS right after “PK” managed over a sixth of its Rs 600 crore ($94 million)-plus earnings from China alone, Aamir had discussed how people there had historically loved Indian films.
“I think the people of China and India seem to have a connect, which is emotional, cultural, and they are quite similar people,” the actor, whose “3 Idiots” and “Dhoom 3” also did well in China, had told IANS.
