MUMBAI: Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Agent Vinod had an average start with first day collections of approximately Rs 94 million (Rs 9.4 crores) nett.
With the kind of controversy surrounding the movie and aggressive promotion, expectations were of a bigger collection. The highest business came from Maharashtra owing to the fact that Agent Vinod was released on a Maharashtrian holiday – Gudi Padwa. However, in the rest of the country collections were on the sluggish side.
The mixed reviews for Agent Vinod indicate that a tremendous surge is difficult over the weekend.
