We all know Bollywood beauties Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are two actresses who are making their presence felt in the international circuit with their respective released Hollywood films – film xXx: Return of Xander Cage and Baywatch.
Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood debut film xXx: Return of Xander Cage was quite in a buzz during its release in India. Similarly, Priyanka Chopra starrer Baywatch is quite in the news but the film has turned out disappointing at the Indian Box Office. Despite carrying a great pre-release buzz, both the films could not live up to audience expectations.
xXx: Return of Xander Cage managed to earn a decent collection of around Rs 1.75 crore nett (Rs 17 million) from the paid previews. On the other hand, Baywatch earned Rs 25 Lakh nett approx. on Thursday (Paid previews). Deepika’s Hollywood release surely took a lead than Priyanka’s Baywatch in the paid previews.
On its first full day, the film collected Rs 6.25 crore net approx (62 million) which is a fair number for a Hollywood release. Taking the full day collection, Deepika Padukone starrer collected Rs 8 crore net (80 million) including paid previews.
Vin Diesel and Deepika Padukone starrer xXx: Return Of Xander Cage had witnessed limited growth on its first weekend at Indian Box Office. The movie’s opening weekend business in India came to around Rs 15.85 crores, which was kind of decent.
However, after its first weekend, the film witnessed huge drop with each passing day. This action flick raked in approx. Rs 2.50 crores (25 million) on its first Monday and continued to show the same trend on Tuesday as well. The film witnessed a cumulative collection of Rs 20.60 crores (including paid previews) in 6 days.
This action flick couldn’t cater many audiences to the theatre.
Now talking about Priyanka Chopra-Dwayne Johnson starrer Baywatch, Rs 1.50 crore (15 Million) nett approx. on Friday, Rs 1.75 crore (17.5 Million) nett approx. on Saturday and Rs 1.50 crore (15 Million) nett approx on Sunday.
Well, Monday turned out to be another disaster day for the film as the film could collect only Rs 75 Lakhs nett approx. The film, which released in four languages (English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu), has earned total Rs 5.75 crore (57.5 Million) nett approx. in 5 days (including paid previews).
Talking about Wonder Woman, the action adventure entertainer, based on the DC Comics character, made its way into the theatres in India on Friday on 350 screens and has released only in English in India. Despite releasing in only English, Wonder Woman is doing a better business than Baywatch in India. The film has earned Rs 10.25 crore nett approx since its release and is looking forward to touch 20 crore mark in a couple of weeks.
