MUMBAI: Produced by SRK’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’ has screeched into theatres majestically on 9 August.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, ‘Chennai Express’ is one of the most awaited films of this year. As reported, the pre-release buzz was understandably at an all-time high, with advance booking soaring (SEE STORY HERE). And it looks like ‘Chennai Express’ has delivered on its promise.
The film started on an extremely strong note with its paid previews on 8th Aug Thursday with Rs 67.5 million (Rs 6.75 cr) net, this makes it the highest ever collection in terms of paid previews.
Friday 9th Aug – Day 1, ‘Chennai Express’ saw an occupancy of about 90%. Huge collections are expected.
