Well now what does one say, Dhoom 3 is just setting new records all across the globe. Be it first day collections or the fastest film to reach the 100 crore mark, Dhoom 3 is just unstoppable and in the days to will go on to make more and more records.
What’s interesting is the fact that not only in India but also even in countries like Pakistan and Nepal the film is rocking the Box Office.
Dhoom 3, after breaking the opening-day collection record at the domestic Box Office, has collected about Rs 1070 million (107 crore) nett approximately in just three days with Day 1 (Friday 20, 2013) the collection was in the range of Rs 362.2 million (36.22 crore) nett approximately, Day 2 (Saturday 21, 2013) the collection was in the range of Rs 333.6 million (Rs. 33.36 crore) nett and Day 3 (Sunday 22, 2013) it managed to collected about Rs 360.499 million (Rs. 36.05 crore) nett approximately.
And now hold your breath, cause the first weekend collections have come and Aamir Khan, Kartina Kaif starrer have managed to collect a whopping Rs 1847 million (Rs. 184.7 crore) nett approximately.
Dhoom 3 has basically set an example of what a good planning can achieve. Yash Raj got together a perfect ensemble and then released the film in about 4,000 screens on India and about 700 overseas. Also the time of release of Dhoom 3 is so very perfect that it has a clear thirty-day run as there is no major release till January 24, 2014.
Also with films like Dhoom 3 and Krrish 3, there is a strong brand association and a recall value to it, so pulling the initial crowds to the theatre is not too much of a task, sustaining the footprints is something one needs to look into. With the festive weekend and holidays it’s not difficult for Dhoom 3 to achieve this.
If one remembers, Krrish 3 released on November 01, 2013 but then it could only manage a three-week clean run as on November 14, 2013 Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela had hit the theatres thus dividing as well as diverging the audience.
All said and done, the rate at which Dhoom 3 is going it will mange to create many records that would tough to match up to.
All eyes are now set on to Salman Khan’s Jai Ho that will hit the theatres on January 24, 2014.
