MUMBAI: Yash raj Films’ ‘Aurangzeb’, directed by debutante Atul Sabharwal, starring Arjun Kapoor, Sasheh Agha, Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Prithviraj, Deepti Naval and Amrita Singh, witnessed a dull opening weekend at the ticketing windows.
First day figures, when the film released on 17 May, 2013, were in the range of Rs 38.4 million (3.84 crore) net, a very poor figure for such a big-ticket film.
On Day 2 and Day 3, the film picked up marginally. Saturday saw collections of Rs 40 million (4 crore) net, and Sunday saw a figure of Rs 46.3 million (4.63 crore) net.
The three day total of the film stands at a dismal Rs 124.7 million (12.47 crore) net.
The film did it’s maximum business in Northern regions like Delhi and NCR, seemingly because the film is based in Gurgaon and is an action-thriller.
