BOX OFFICE: ‘Issaq’, ‘Bajatey Raho’, ‘Nasha’ Struggle Through First Week

Last weekend’s Bollywood releases ‘Issaq’, ‘Bajatey Raho’ and ‘Nasha’ had a depressing week at the ticketing windows.

MUMBAI: Last weekend’s Bollywood releases ‘Issaq’, ‘Bajatey Raho’ and ‘Nasha’ had a depressing week at the ticketing windows.

All three films had a similarly bleak run in week one at the box office.

As reported, the Shashant Shah directed ‘Bajatey Raho’, starring Tusshar Kapoor, Ravi Kishan, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Vinay Pathak, saw a bleak opening weekend of approx Rs 49.3 million (Rs 4.93 crore) net. The week one figure stands at approximately Rs 66.4 million (Rs 6.64 crore) net.

‘Issaq’ had a dull opening weekend too, with the Prateik Babbar-Amyra Dastur starrer garnering only about Rs 31 million (Rs 3.10 crore) net in its first three days. The Manish Tiwary directorial has since collected an average figure of close to Rs 43.8 million (Rs 4.38 crore) net in the first week.

‘Nasha’, starring Poonam Pandey and directed by Amit Saxena, had opening weekend collections in the range of Rs 27.7 million (Rs 2.77 crore) net. Since then, the film has collected a mere Rs 39.2 million (Rs 3.92 crore) net in week one.

In comparison, Hugh Jackman starrer Hollywood film ‘The Wolverine’ had a more promising first week, collecting approximately Rs 162.5 million (Rs 16.25 crore) net in 7 days.
