MUMBAI: Raaz 3, another horror thriller from the Bhatt camp, starring the trio of Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu and Bollywood newcomer Esha Gupta – has taken quite an extraordinary opening at the Box Office on its first day.
The film opened with a strong occupancy of 80-85%, the major response coming from Central India & Rajasthan. On its first day nationwide release, Raaz 3 emerged a winner.
Single screens and 3D screens performed tremendously. The film’s opening in some circuits, especially in Rajasthan, is close to Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger!
The aggressive promotional strategy promising an abundance of horror and sex has worked in the filmmakers favor – with approximately Rs 110 million (Rs 11 crore) net, Raaz 3 is one of the biggest starts of 2012.
